Director of Special Education Report ~ Spring Term 2015
As the end of another exciting term at Longspee draws to a close, I am making you aware of some important changes that have occurred over the last few weeks following some staff restructuring across the Ambitions Academy Trust.
You will probably be aware from the local press that the Trust has been working closely with St Aldhelms
Academy and one of our senior leaders, Sian Thomas, has moved across to take on the role of Principal there. As a consequence I was asked to take on the role of Director of Special Needs across the Trust.
Over the years I have had the privilege of leading Petersfield Campus, Nigel Bowes and Longspee. My new role involves me working across all sites strategically and operationally to support the needs of all pupils we work with enabling all to flourish.
As a consequence, I am delighted to formally advise you that Sharon Burt has stepped up into the role of Associate Principal at Longspee Academy. Sharon and I will be working closely together with the staff team, governors and the wider community to ensure Longspee continues to go from strength to strength.
I am still readily available if not that visible these days should you want to talk specifically to me.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Principal at Longspee. It has definitely been a highlight of my career working within such a vibrant learning community with such dedicated staff and fantastic children. I greatly appreciate all the support I have received and trust this will continue for Sharon and the whole school as the academy moves forward
into a new era of success.
Have a wonderful Easter break.
